Rescued by the Creator of All

Colossians 1:16 – “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible…through Him and for Him.”

Mid-December in South Texas and the rut is rocking. Mark Newell and I have just ended a magical week of hunting in which we rattled in over 100 bucks on Mavala Ranch. It was one of my most exciting and fun hunts ever! Bucks after buck of all sizes and ages responded to our mock fights, including one old warrior well over 170. It was Mark’s first time ever to hunt or even see South Texas. He was blown away. “The best 6 days of hunting in my life,” he described it.

Yet, one of our most memorable moments was not while hunting; it was one evening when we looked up at the crystal-clear night sky and saw the awesome awry of stars in full display away from the dimming effect of city lights…and realized the awesomeness of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who made it all!

Yes, Jesus created ALL things that are created. John 1:3 says clearly, “All things came into being through Him (Jesus), and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” That same Jesus came to earth in humble circumstances as a baby born in a cattle trough. That same Jesus was later mocked, beaten, scourged, and rejected by His own people. That same Jesus was crucified on the Cross, dead and buried.

Yes, that same Jesus created all things that are created, including every star that Mark and I saw on that clear Texas night. And thankfully, that same Jesus said He would die and rise again in three days…and DID IT! That same Jesus…the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Creator of ALL, the Savior of the World…bought with His precious blood forgiveness and salvation for you and me on the Cross…if we will only accept Him as Lord and Savior in faith. I for one say “YES, LORD!”
