TECOMATE RUT REPORT – MS – 12/31/13

As I have said many times in the past the Mississippi Rut is the craziest in the country. This year being no different. For the extreme northern parts of the state the peak rut period has already pasted, along with the North Delta region with extends from Vicksburg to the Tennessee border. As for the rest of the state rutting activity is in full force or is just about to begin. I took this nice 11pt. near Jackson, MS the day after Christmas cursing looking for a hot doe. My Remington Model 700 .308 did its job nicely with the buck never taking a step. The Remington Premier Copper Solids blew through both shoulders easily. This was my third deer taken with this gun and bullet combo with the same story all three times. Stay after them you Mississippi faithful, our time is now to kill a giant whitetail.
