Tecomate Rut Report – IA - October 9, 2013
We’ve received our first blast of cooler air this last week. The patterns are starting to change and shape up as we get within 4 weeks of Rut taking full force.
This last week I’ve seen several younger bucks start sparing. The mature bucks have separated themselves from the bachelor groups, but remain very nocturnal. The occasional scrape has also been popping up. All of this tells me Rut is just around the corner so get ready.
If you don’t have them out yet, get your Reconyx cameras out and get your scouting in. Mature bucks are very smart and you may only get one crack at getting it right. Take the guess work out and get the cameras up.
Good Luck!
