Backyard Mix is designed to bring nature to your yard. It has Tecomate’s own premium clovers that are mixed with Brassica to attract deer in your area. It also includes a mixture of various wildflower seed that will attract birds and butterflies.

The seed mixture is a no-till product that is very easy to plant! It will grow up to 3 feet high. All you need to do is find the desired area to plant, spread the seed, and then watch the wildlife come!

Backyard Mix® Planting Suggestions

    1. Plant in a sunny location that has been cleared of weeds and grass.
    2. Backyard Mix is pre-inoculated and coated for fast germination.
    3. Rough up soil
    4. No-till, spread the seed by hand or with a hand broadcast spreader. Plant at a rate of 1 pound per 500 square feet. Cover seed by lightly dragging soil over the seed. Avoid planting too deep.
    5. Plant 1/8 – 1/4 inch deep in good moisture.

    Welcome to the first fork in the road. A lot of folks are planting food plots these days; some are experienced, some are not. At Tecomate, we want to do everything possible to make sure that regardless of your experience you take the right steps to success. If you are a beginner foodplotter or have limited equipment please look at Level 1. If you have planted food plots before and have farming equipment, we recommend reading Level 2 which is at the bottom.

    Which Deer Food Plot Level Are You At?

      Level 1: If you have limited equipment, are new to food plot planting or are considering “giving it a try”, follow this path.

      Level 2: If you have access to farming equipment and a basic knowledge of food plot planting, follow this path.

    Regional food plot seed products offer best results.
